Giddy Up for Some Fun Western Party Games at a Western Party

Western theme parties are a great ways to travel back to a simpler, all be it rough time when cowboys, bandits, saloon fights, wild card games, and other adventures will the norm. Cowboys and cowgirls are inclined to part take is some western fun by playing Western Party Games and Printable Activities.

Find the Needle Game: This game is played by creating a few haystacks(small or large depending on your choice) then hiding various party favors and other items in the the haystack for the guests to find. Place the haystack on a large tarp to avoid a huge messy clean up later. on go, cowboys and cowgirls must try to find the various party favors as quickly as possible by dismantling the haystack.

Wanted Game: This game is played by making WANTED posters of the guests and creating paper sheriff's badges to use as game pieces. Blindfold each of the players, and on go, the players must stick the sheriffs badge on the center of the face in the WANTED poster. Winner of the game is the guest who places the badge closest to the nose on the poster.

Cowboy Fun: This game is played like ring toss with pop bottles(covered with construction paper) being placed on the ground. The object of the game is to throw hoops at the target with the hope that the hoop falls around the post. There are many different ways to play Cowboy Hoopla. Spilt the party guests into teams giving each player a certain amount of throws. The team who can make the most throws around the post is the winner. Another option is to have players stand behind the throwing line and try to throw the hoop around the post to win a prize.

Catch the Bandit. Catch the Bandit is played by lining up players in a row facing in the opposite direction so one child races one way while the player next to them faces another way. Each child is given a number. If there are 8 players then the players will get the numbers 1-7. The bandit walks around the line continuously with a sack full of gold (use gold foil cover candies). The party host calls out a number, and the child with that number must breaks from the line and chases the bandit down before the bandit can reach the place the child left. If the bandit makes it back without being tagged that child receives no gold. If the bandit is tagged, that child receives one gold piece. The game continues until all the gold pieces are collected. The child with the most gold pieces at the end of the game is the winner.
